When applying to college, it can be hard to know what essay topics will be interesting to admissions boards. One way that you can make your application stand out is by writing a personal statement.

The personal statement allows the applicant an opportunity to share their story with the reader, and it’s up to you how detailed or brief you want the story told.

In this post, I’ll explain how to write a successful personal statement so that yours stands out from all of the other applicants! Share what you’ve done, your interests and why the college is a good fit for you.

If it’s an essay prompt that asks “Why are you interested in our school?” then this might be where to talk about how much research on campus has influenced your decision.

One way to show interest is by telling them specifically what courses or programs they offer that appeal to you. This will give admissions boards insight into upcoming coursework with potential students and can help determine if those courses would meet their needs as well as future program offerings at the institution.

An example of something like this could be “I’m looking forward to studying engineering because I enjoy problem-solving.” There should also be mention of both academic goals and personal goals.
