This past week, I took a road trip through the tech world. It was an exciting, new experience for me but also very challenging. What I learned was that there is a lot of value to exploring the unknown. The question of discovering the unknown is one we are asked all the time. I love exploring new ideas, technologies, and people and this experience made me realize that the “unknown” really is the best thing about life.
I know that this is a bit of a rant, but I did some research yesterday and found that almost every web page on my site is about the unknown, and that I can learn a lot about new ideas and technology. It’s interesting to learn about your social media following, but especially if you’re not at a web company.
I have one of those yous, or at least I’ve gotten better at recognizing it after a while. Its been about three years since I got really good at this, but I think the best way to learn something new is to do something that you love. This is why I’m learning to code and why I started the code.org initiative. Code.org is an online community for all kinds of coding enthusiasts.
The initiative is the brainchild of a group of techies whose motto is “We want to unite the geeks.” We want to unite the people who love coding and the people who don’t. We want to help them find a place to hang out, learn a new language, and share ideas. We want to make it as easy as possible for people to be able to learn and share with that community.
The goal is to help people find a place to hang out by creating new projects and sharing on what they want to learn. We want to help people find the best way to learn something that works.
